Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Senior Inspector to lead complex inspection tasks on major construction projects in New York. You will perform civil, structural, and non-destructive tests, ensuring adherence to contract specs and safety standards.

The role may involve travel or relocation to field sites and may require lead responsibilities within the inspection team. A strong ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications is essential.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in a technical discipline or construction related field and 10+ years of related experience on heavy construction projects, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience.
Formal certification from an independent organization, depending on type of inspection assignment.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications.
Lead capacity potential.

Responsibilities

Conducts tests to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications; includes civil and structural tests.
Performs destructive and nondestructive tests on metals and other materials using specified methods.
Monitors underground piping for tightness, bedding, and grade; validates piping systems and P&ID checks.
Checks location of reinforcing steel before concrete placement and inspects electrical installations for safety.
Prepares quality control reports and may draft safety reports.
