Job summary

Southland Holdings in El Paso, TX seeks an experienced Concrete Superintendent to lead on-site concrete construction for large-scale projects. The role requires 7+ years of field experience, strong leadership, and the ability to read specs and schedules to drive safe, timely outcomes.

You will manage crews, coordinate with PMs and engineers, monitor quality, and ensure strict adherence to budgets and safety standards on complex infrastructure installations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of concrete construction experience, preferably with large structures or pump stations.
• Proven leadership in managing large-scale pipeline projects.
• Strong knowledge of concrete installation techniques, equipment, and safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must have working knowledge of MS Office.
• Willingness to work long hours.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all phases of concrete installation, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to schedules.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to maintain workflow and resolve issues.
• Must understand basic concrete principles such as mix designs, admixtures, curing, weather procedures, formwork systems, and concrete calculations for pours.
• Interpret and act on project schedule and communicate changes as they arise
• Understand a budget and control field costs in accordance with the budget
• Teach and train foremen and crew leaders at lower levels
• Develop project plan along with Project Manager and drive milestones
• Provide day-to-day direction on-site to project resources and ensure teams have resources and support
• Ensure effective management changes occur throughout the course of the project
