Job summary

Hermeus seeks a Components Manufacturing Engineer to establish and scale advanced manufacturing for critical hardware at our facility. You will own fabrication from concept to production, drive DFM, process development, and continuous improvement for precision mechanical systems.

You will work cross-functionally with design, materials, and production teams to translate prototypes into world-class manufacturing capabilities, enabling rapid iteration and high-quality output.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on precision component manufacturing experience.
• Experience with CNC machining, welding (TIG/laser/e-beam), or additive manufacturing.
• Ability to develop, validate, and scale new manufacturing processes.
• Strong GD&T, tolerance stacks, and material behavior knowledge.
• Hands-on lab or production experience in process development and fixture design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own end-to-end manufacturing processes for precision components.
• Drive design for manufacturability with design engineers from concept to release.
• Define and optimize process parameters for laser welding and precision machining.
• Lead first-article builds and implement corrective actions.
• Plan, operate, and schedule the sheet metal shop to ensure on-time delivery.
• Design and procure tooling, fixtures, and test equipment.
• Support production staff by troubleshooting issues and resolving non-conformances.
• Establish and maintain manufacturing documentation and control plans.
• Collaborate with quality, supply chain, and test teams on performance.
• Develop data-driven process control and yield improvement.
• Act as technical authority for component manufacturing and mentor technicians.
