Job summary

The Stemler Corporation is seeking a Master/Journeyman Commercial Plumber in Jeffersonville, IN to lead new construction plumbing. You will run major installations from underground through finish, manage field crews, and work with senior management in a stable environment that values expertise.

Responsibilities include leading underground/rough-in piping, coordinating with contractors, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• Active Journeyman or Master Plumbing License (Kentucky or Indiana).
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in commercial/industrial new construction plumbing.
• Experience supervising site crews and managing complex workflows.
• Strong knowledge of local plumbing codes, material specs, and design-build processes.
• Valid driver’s license and candidate-provided standard trade hand tools.
• Preferred OSHA 10/30, Lift, or Confined Space certifications.
• Experience with process piping, backflow prevention, natural gas, and storm drainage systems.
• Comfort using mobile devices/tablets for field documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead field installations of underground, rough-in, above-ceiling, and equipment piping systems for new commercial/industrial builds.
• Manage assigned projects in the field from start to finish—plan daily tasks, set sequences, and keep crews on schedule.
• Supervise, direct, and mentor plumbers, apprentices, and helpers to ensure quality workmanship and efficiency.
• Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, submittals, and specifications to determine measurements and penetration points.
• Perform field layout and assembly of piping, valves, fixtures, supports, and equipment per code.
• Coordinate daily with general contractors, superintendents, and inspectors to resolve field conflicts.
• Monitor material levels, organize procurement, and track site progress and daily logs.
• Enforce safety practices including PPE, trench safety, lift protocols, and hazard communication.
