Job summary

Cogent Analytics is seeking a Lead Mechanic – Commercial HVAC to lead field crews, install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC systems on commercial projects. You will read blueprints, coordinate with general contractors, and ensure safety and quality on site.

The role requires 5–10+ years in commercial HVAC, and at least 2 years in a foreman or supervisory role, plus EPA 608 certification. Expect use of lifts, oversight of equipment, and mentorship of team members.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of commercial HVAC field experience.
• Minimum of 2 years in a foreman, lead, or supervisory role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead field crews of mechanics, apprentices, helpers, and subcontractors on commercial job sites while managing schedules, materials, and workflow.
• Troubleshoot, repair, service, and maintain chillers, boilers, RTUs, AHUs, VAV boxes and other equipment.
• Program, diagnose, troubleshoot, and interface with BAS and EMS.
• Read mechanical schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprints.
• Enforce safety requirements and ensure work meets codes and project specs.
