Job summary

EXALTA Group in Marquette, Michigan is seeking experienced CNC Setup Technicians to join our team. This role requires hands-on proficiency with our processes and leadership capabilities to drive quality and productivity in high-end medical device manufacturing.

You will perform complex machine set-ups, coordinate activities to meet production schedules, set up tools, measure with precision, train operators, and collaborate with engineers on design transfer.

Qualifications

• CNC Machining Certificate or Associate degree required or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of CNC experience preferred
• 5+ years in production environment preferred
• Experience setting up multiple machines and machine types

Responsibilities

• Complete complex machine set-ups
• Coordinate and complete setup activities to meet production schedules
• Machine parts to specifications using machine tools (lathe, milling, shaper, grinder)
• Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machines tools for precision machining
• Align and secure fixtures, tools, attachments, or materials on machines
• Measure units with precision instruments to ensure conformance to specifications
• Monitor feeds and speeds during machining
• Maintain machine tools for safe operation
• Perform first piece quality checks prior to release to production
• Post-production setup data using SAP and other systems
• Train and mentor operators and Set-Up Technicians
