Job summary

Aerotek in Santa Ana, CA seeks a Lead CNC Machinist to lead high-precision aerospace manufacturing on a day shift (6am–2:30pm) with overtime opportunities. You will set up and operate manual and CNC equipment, interpret blueprints, mentor apprentices, and ensure aerospace-quality results.

Ideal candidates will provide technical leadership, maintain strict tolerances, coordinate with engineering, and drive lean 5S improvements on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Experience leading CNC machining in aerospace environments.
• Ability to read drawings and interpret GD&T.
• Proven track record of maintaining tight tolerances and high quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program (when required), and operate manual and CNC machines.
• Interpret drawings, work instructions, and CAD models.
• Inspect parts with precision instruments and adjust for dimensional accuracy.
• Mentor apprentices and junior machinists on safety and best practices.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize tool paths and fixturing.
• Maintain machine and tool maintenance schedules and perform minor repairs.
• Uphold lean manufacturing principles and 5S in the work area.
