Job summary

Delva Tool & Machine in Cinnaminson, NJ, seeks a Machinist III, Lead to own fixture setup, drive parts to D1 status, and partner with programming for part prove-out and FAI on Mazak 5-axis equipment.

You will mentor Machinist I and II, lead multi-axis setup, and serve as day-to-day floor contact for setup, tooling, and routing. The role demands AS9100-grade precision, ITAR readiness, and a proactive improvement mindset.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience, including multi-axis or 5-axis equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to set up and adjust programs on CNC machining centers without hand-holding.
• Experience with fixture setup and part prove-out, including FAI processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and job routers.
• Working knowledge of feeds, speeds, and tooling selection for aluminum and at least one exotic alloy (titanium, stainless, tool steel).
• High School Diploma or GED, Trade/Vocational Certificate, Associate's Degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Authorization to work on ITAR-controlled aerospace and defense components.

Responsibilities

• Drive PAC-3 components from current state to D1, coordinating fixture design and setup.
• Lead part prove-out and First Article Inspection (FAI) from day one.
• Become go-to resource on Mazak 5-axis HMCs and Palletech pallets within 90 days.
• Lead setup, adjust programs, and validate new programs via first runs and FAI.
• Serve as primary contact for operators on setup, tooling, routing; mentor Machinist I and II.
• On shift, act as safety and personnel contact in absence of supervision; document observations and involve leadership/HR.
• Collaborate with Engineering and CNC programmers to reduce scrap and improve manufacturability; support lean/5S.
