Job summary

Home Helpers Home Care in Layton, UT is seeking a Lead CNA to mentor and support our caregiving team. The role emphasizes training, scheduling, and hands-on care to ensure high-quality in-home services for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

The Lead CNA will coordinate training, assist with onboarding, and participate in client intake while maintaining reliable, compassionate care in the community. Weekday hours vary by location with potential evenings and weekend on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active CNA license.
• Experience in caregiving and mentoring is a plus.
• Ability to train and support caregiving colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate caregiver training.
• Assist with training in the office and in clients’ homes.
• Conduct client intake assessments and introduce new caregivers to clients.
• Fill in as a caregiver when needed.
• Provide on-call coverage every other weekend.

Job Description – Lead CNA

Schedule Requirements

• Morning Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Evening Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• The evening shift may be eligible for a shift differential.
• Schedule availability is required Monday through Friday.
• Every other weekend on-call coverage is required from 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM.
• Occasional coverage outside of regularly scheduled hours may be required based on business needs, including coverage until 10:00 PM.

Applicants must be able to reliably work this weekday schedule, as it is essential to supporting caregiver training, onboarding, and daily operations. HOURS VARY ON LOCATION! ASK US!!

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate caregiver training
• Assist with training in the office and in clients’ homes
• Client intake assessments
• Introduce new caregivers to clients
• Fill in as a caregiver when needed
• Assist with in-office projects as assigned (i.e. paperwork, phone support, additional trainings)
• Cover shifts, be on-call every other weekend and as assigned

What You Need to Be Successful

• Strong work ethic
• Willingness to learn and accept feedback

Requirements

• Current CNA license
• Minimum of 2 years of caregiving experience preferred
• At least 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Ability to work independently
• Reliable attendance record
