Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant to perform a mix of clinical and administrative duties in a busy medical practice. You will assist physicians with patient care, greet and register patients, and support ongoing operations to ensure smooth patient flow.

Essential tasks include taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, processing specimens, and maintaining HIPAA compliance. A High School diploma or GED is required; BLS is mandatory, and CCMA is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED/equivalent is required.
  • No prior experience required for Certified Medical Assistants newly graduated from a vocational/technical training in Medical Assistant.
  • Six (6) months of experience in clinical setting for uncertified applicants (required).
  • BLS certification accredited by the American Heart Association (required).
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians with patient care and front desk duties.
  • Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, and manage registrations.
  • Support clinical tasks such as collecting specimens, vital signs, and basic procedures.
