Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Security Engineer for Cloud Threat Hunting to advance our secure cloud adoption. You will lead threat hunts, shape cloud security architecture, and partner with product, engineering, and risk teams to embed secure-by-design principles across cloud workloads.

This role requires expertise in threat modeling, CSPM tools, and IaC security, with a focus on scalable enterprise controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience with relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CCSP).
• Hands-on cloud-native experience on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud with cloud security certification.
• Experience with threat modeling methodologies and risk-based security assessments.
• Experience with CSPM tools (e.g., Wiz, Prisma Cloud, CrowdStrike Falcon).
• Knowledge of IaC frameworks (Terraform, CloudFormation) and security implications.
• Ability to lead cross-functional security initiatives without direct authority.
• Strong prioritization with a risk-based decision approach.
• Ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, engineering, and risk teams to embed secure-by-design principles across cloud architectures.
• Develop and run cloud-focused threat hunts, translating findings into detection rules and controls.
• Use tooling to query and analyze large datasets for threats and risk patterns.
• Deliver threat models and risk-based assessments for cloud services and applications.
• Review infrastructure-as-code for security alignment with firm standards.
• Develop preventive and detective controls across cloud environments at scale.
• Collaborate with security operations and incident response to operationalize detections.
• Provide guidance on cloud threat landscape to inform strategic decisions.
• Contribute to documentation and agile security program processes.
