Job summary

PTR Global is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer for a 12-month contract in Atlanta. The role focuses on building scalable backend services with Python and FastAPI, while shaping data pipelines on Azure and Databricks.

You will work with Snowflake for data storage and enable REST APIs for system integration. Ideal candidates bring strong software engineering fundamentals, hands-on cloud expertise in Azure, and experience with ETL/ELT processes, AI-enabled features, and data platform

Qualifications

5+ years of backend/full-stack software engineering with production systems.
Proficient in Python and FastAPI development.
Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud and data services.
Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF).
Experience with Azure Databricks for data engineering.
Strong understanding of ETL/ELT and data integration.
Experience with Snowflake as a cloud data platform.
Knowledge of AI technologies and their integration into apps.
Experience building and integrating REST APIs.
Ability to design, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud-based data solutions.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and FastAPI.
Develop, manage, and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
Build and support cloud-based data engineering solutions within Microsoft Azure.
Work with Snowflake for data storage, processing, integration, and optimization.
Design and develop RESTful APIs to support application and data integration.
Implement and maintain ETL/ELT processes for efficient data movement and transformation.
Troubleshoot and resolve backend application, data pipeline, and cloud integration issues.
Support the development and integration of AI-driven capabilities within applications and data platforms.
Collaborate with software engineering, data engineering, and cloud teams to deliver scalable technical solutions.
Provide technical guidance and contribute to engineering best practices, code quality, and system performance.
