Job summary

Nightwing seeks an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to lead a program establishing a unified development environment in AWS GovCloud and migrate separate networks into one. The role emphasizes automated, repeatable workflows over manual tasks, ensuring secure, scalable architectures for mission-critical operations.

The ideal candidate combines 8+ years in cloud design with hands-on AWS expertise and a strong background in IaC, security, and migration leadership, working closely with DevOps

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
• 8+ years of directly relevant experience in cloud environments.
• 5+ years designing cloud architectures, preferably AWS.
• Strong expertise in AWS services: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
• Deep understanding of cloud security and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to lead migration/consolidation of multiple networks/environments.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
• Experience in Agile development environments, strong documentation skills.
• Automation scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Networking knowledge: TLS, VPC firewall management.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture of a consolidated, maintainable AWS GovCloud development environment.
• Plan and execute migration of separate networks into a single environment.
• Develop automation frameworks and IaC templates for provisioning and deployment.
• Provide systems engineering leadership for a large development effort.
• Interface with customer and stakeholders to derive migration specs.
• Implement security controls appropriate for a classified environment.
• Collaborate with DevOps to enhance CI/CD pipelines.
• Support risk assessments and mitigation during migration.
• Conduct architecture reviews and guide implementation teams.
• Evaluate new cloud services to improve operations.
• Troubleshoot complex architectural issues during migration and operation.
