Summary of Job Duties: The Lead Clinical Therapist (LCT) at UAMS STRIVE provides direct clinical services, including but not limited to diagnostic assessment, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, collateral intervention, and crisis intervention to patients. Services are provided primarily in the office, community, or home setting based on patient need and pay source permissions. The LCT must meet a clinical productivity/service access expectation as set by the supervisor and the department. S/He completes clinical and administrative processes and documentation in compliance with relevant policies and procedures; and participates in staff meetings, training, supervision, and continuing education activities as needed to maintain quality and coordination of care as well as professional licensure and/or certification.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field plus 3 years of direct clinical, outpatient behavioral health experience required.

  • Current and valid Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) from the Arkansas Professional Board by date of hire.

  • Ability to pass CPI Certification if required.

  • Ability to pass Child Abuse and Neglect Registry check, State Police background check, and drug test.

  • Ability to pass TB screening.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct clinical services that include but are not limited to: Diagnostic assessment, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, collateral intervention, and crisis intervention. This also includes mandated reporting in compliance with legal and professional standards and guidelines.

  • Provides Psychological Testing if licensure allows, that is consistent with the permission of their Professional State Licensure.

  • Completes clinical and administrative processes and documentation in compliance with Medicaid, insurance, Joint Commission, program, and departmental policies and procedures. This may include participation in administrative tasks such as medical record reviews, treatment outcomes projects, and program development projects in addition to direct-service-related documentation.

  • Works with administrative support and utilization management staff as needed to facilitate scheduling, prior and continuing review authorization of services, and transfer/referral of clients to other programs as needed.

  • Participates in regularly scheduled and as-needed departmental and program staff meetings, training, and supervision.

  • Participates in continuing education activities as required to maintain professional licensure and/or certification.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
