Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise laboratory testing, including POCT, and review test validity and accuracy.
• Develop and implement policies, standards, and QA protocols.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, calibration, and ensure regulatory compliance (CLIA, FDA, CAP, JC, OSHA).
• Manage staffing, training programs, and personnel evaluations, promoting team development.
• Oversee quality control activities, maintain documentation, and address QA concerns.
• Ensure laboratory meets accreditation and safety standards, liaising with other departments and acting as CLS when necessary.

Role Overview

The Medical Laboratory Supervisor oversees all laboratory testing operations, manages personnel, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities

• Supervise laboratory testing, including point of care testing (POCT), and review test validity and accuracy.
• Develop and implement policies, standards, and quality assurance protocols.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and ensure regulatory compliance (CLIA, FDA, CAP, JC, OSHA).
• Manage staffing, training programs, and personnel evaluations, promoting team development.
• Oversee quality control activities, maintain documentation, and address QA concerns.
• Ensure laboratory meets accreditation and safety standards, acting as a liaison with other departments and acting as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist when necessary.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, biological, chemical sciences, or related field (required).
• Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in the state of employment (required).
• Preferred certifications from ASCP or NCA.
• Five years of clinical lab experience and two years of leadership experience are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, quality assurance, and regulatory standards.

Additional requirements include conducting training, managing staff, and ensuring laboratory safety and compliance. The role involves performing other duties as assigned to support laboratory operations.
