Job summary

Gift of Hope is seeking an experienced laboratory professional to lead a high-complexity testing section. The role focuses on molecular HLA typing, flow cytometry and infectious disease testing, with duties including mentoring staff and ensuring quality compliance.

The position is a 10-hour shift with scheduling flexibility, and includes responsibilities from test execution to process improvement and client communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in one of the biological, chemical or medical sciences.
• Certification as a CHT or CHS or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in high-complexity testing in histocompatibility or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-complexity laboratory testing using established methodologies including HLA typing and infectious disease testing.
• Serve as section lead and provide technical guidance with at least two years of expertise.
• Document test results, interpret complex patterns and identify causes for irregular results.
• Prepare section quality assurance reports and lead process improvement initiatives.
• Communicate results to clinicians and coordinators and enter data into LIS.
• Support staff with testing procedures, quality controls and SOPs.
