What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
  • Perform concurrent and retrospective reviews to identify opportunities for improving medical record documentation quality
  • Complete audits to assess query compliance, coding accuracy, and provider education needs
  • Develop and provide education to ensure competency and compliance within the CDI department
  • Function as a liaison between the CDI department, coding, quality, compliance, clinical providers, and organizational leadership
  • Participate in interdisciplinary workgroups as a subject matter expert to achieve desired outcomes
What is Required (Qualifications):
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing and an active RN license
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; 6-10 years preferred
  • CCDS (Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist) or CDIP (Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner) certification
  • Knowledge and experience in medical information, coding applications, and electronic spreadsheets
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Experience in Clinical Documentation Integrity Auditing/Education
  • Proficiency in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and AHA Coding Clinic
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Familiarity with payer compliance and quality metrics
  • Active involvement in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives
