Job summary

Advocate Health in Aurora, IL is seeking an experienced Athletic Trainer to lead daily operations in the Surgery: Orthopedics department. The role includes mentoring staff, conducting training, and coordinating with physicians on injury assessments and patient care.

You will supervise workflow, support human resources tasks, and ensure adherence to care protocols while delivering high-quality rehabilitation services in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Five years athletic training experience, including two years as Senior or equivalent.
• Current athletic training certification and state license where applicable.
• BLS/CPR/AED training within 30 days of hire.
• Bachelor's degree in athletic training from CAATE program.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a resource and demonstrates leadership in day-to-day work activities; mentors staff.
• Assigns, monitors and reviews work; ensures staffing and guidance on complex issues.
• Provides clinical problem solving, develops training and education activities.
• Performs injury assessments and triages, communicates with physicians.
• Prepares and assists with injections and post-operative wound care.
• Completes required documentation of patient care per policy.
