Springfield Clinic seeks an Athletic Trainer to act as a clinical and educational resource for staff, students, and physicians in Springfield, IL. The role centers on delivering quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and instruction, including history-taking, vitals, documentation, bracing, casts, and patient education.

The position requires collaboration with physicians, NP/PAs, and various Clinic departments; adherence to HIPAA; and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Athletic Training required.
• Illinois licensure is required or in process.
• CPR certification per AHA guidelines within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interview for medical history and document findings in the medical record.
• Obtain vital signs and medical information for physician examination and document in medical record.
• Serve as patient advocate and address concerns regarding service.
• Communicate with physicians/NPs/PAs regarding patient care.
• Perform injury assessment and treatment per governing standards.
• Assist with bracing, casting, and patient instruction; document in records.
• Provide pre/postoperative instruction and educate patients.
• Maintain professional demeanor and HIPAA-compliant records.
• Coordinate care with Clinic departments, hospitals, and pharmacies.
• Schedule procedures and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Attend education programs to maintain knowledge.
