Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking an experienced Lead to supervise facility operations, delegate tasks, and guide staff at a Raleigh site. You will ensure standards are followed and assist with scheduling while maintaining safety and cleanliness across the building.

The role involves operating equipment, handling cleaning chemicals, and supporting overall janitorial duties. Applicants with supervisory experience and a driver’s license are preferred, with strong communication and leadership skills valued.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma, GED, or college degree is not required.
• 1 year of similar work experience preferred.
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• 1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow assigned work schedules and route cards; report barriers.
• Provide leadership and direction to team members.
• Maintain open communication between field employees and management; document client communications.
• Assist with daily and weekly work schedules.
• Oversee and perform cleaning operations in the assigned building.
• Manage keys and access cards for the property.
• Report damaged, broken, or out-of-work features/items.
• Oversee and perform additional service requests in the building.
• Oversee quality of work and confirm completion with Area Manager.
• Train new hires per onboarding procedures.
• Complete and validate time records for regular or subcontractor employees.
• Check supplies, equipment, and chemicals weekly.

Overview

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Lead to ensure all facility operations follow policies and procedures. They coordinate daily operations by delegating job assignments and providing guidance. A Lead provides supervision at an assigned location when the Manager is not present. The Shift Leader demonstrates established standards to keep the buildings/facilities clean and safe for all workers and customers. This role involves operating specialized equipment, handling cleaning chemicals, and supporting general janitorial duties as needed.

• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
