Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a Workers' Compensation Examiner Lead to manage investigations, evaluation and settlements or declinations of workers’ comp claims. The role emphasizes prompt research, negotiation and interaction with insureds, claimants and medical providers.

The position will sit 4 days hybrid out of the Oak Brook Office, requiring strong knowledge of insurance practices and excellent communication across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years WC claims handling experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suites.
• Demonstrated skills in investigation, evaluation and negotiation.
• Strong knowledge of insurance theory and practices.

Responsibilities

• Follows AmTrust policies and procedures in managing claims.
• Investigates the claim and coverage by contacting involved parties.
• Evaluates, establishes, maintains, and adjusts reserves.
• Negotiates settlements and aims for quick resolution with a merits-based approach.
• Gathers and interprets medical and other reports to support claims decisions.
• Maintains communication with internal counsel for defense planning.
