Job summary

BHE GT&S is seeking a Technical Specialist/Senior Technical Specialist (Civil) at our White Oaks General Office in Bridgeport, WV. You will lead planning, design, procurement, and construction for pipeline, compression, and civil/structural projects across the system.

The role requires strong engineering knowledge, 5+ years of experience, and the ability to perform high-level analyses, provide technical reviews, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in civil/structural engineering.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
• Ability to apply math, science and engineering to solve problems.
• Proficient in design of systems meeting needs.
• Strong oral, written, and graphical communication.
• Ability to conduct literature review and use technical literature.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent organization and project management skills.
• Proficient PC skills and software knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, procurement, and construction for pipeline, compression, and civil/structural projects.
• Provide technical oversight and engineering reviews through all project phases.
• Perform civil/structural evaluations including bridge and pipe analysis.
• Manage mitigation and remediation projects such as landslides and pipe exposures.
• Prepare specifications, drawings, cost estimates, and reports.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and provide repair recommendations.
• Deliver engineering support to internal teams and train engineers.
• Provide PE signoff for applicable intrastate projects.
• Track and forecast project budgets and support improvement initiatives.
