Lead Civil Engineer -- Energy & Industrial Group

Join to apply for the Lead Civil Engineer -- Energy & Industrial Group role at Sargent & Lundy.

This position offers the opportunity to utilize and expand your civil engineering skills within a multi-disciplinary team environment, focusing on power plant, substations, transmission lines, and heavy industrial systems.

Responsibilities include:

1. Design, modify, and analyze civil aspects of power plant projects, including site development, calculations, and specifications.
2. Coordinate with project managers, clients, contractors, and permitting agencies to ensure timely and complete designs.
3. Guide other civil engineers and designers on project work, depending on scope and complexity.
4. Prepare calculations for storm water, sewage, pavement, ponds, and earthwork; develop technical specifications; create site layouts and drainage designs.
5. Review contractor submissions and vendor documentation for compliance.
6. Potential travel for design reviews and site visits.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• PE license required, preferably in NJ, MD, or East Coast states.
• 10+ years in heavy industrial project design, power plant experience preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoDesk Civil 3D, StormCad, PondPack, AutoTurn, MS Office.
• Excellent communication and team skills.

Additional details:

This role is based in Hamilton, NJ, with a hybrid work schedule (3 days in-office).
