Job summary

Janssen & Spaans Engineering, Inc. is seeking a SENIOR construction Inspector to safeguard engineering quality by inspecting bridges, roadways and related work to ensure conformance with plans and specs.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Civil/Construction Engineering, with 5+ years INDOT/DOT inspection experience; PE optional. Proficiency with INDOT specs and SiteManager/AWP software is preferred. In-person, full-time role with a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Construction Engineering is required.
• PE Optional is acceptable.
• INDOT Certified Technician registration preferred if PE is not licensed.
• Familiarity with INDOT Specification and Contract means/methods is desired.
• Leadership and communication skills are essential.
• Proficient with Project SiteManager and AWP AASHTO Software.

Responsibilities

• Delegate tasks effectively and mentor inspection staff.
• Measure distances to verify accuracy of installations and layouts.
• Observe work to ensure procedures and materials meet specifications.
• Examine finished installations for conformity and approve installations.
• Interpret plans and specifications and record quantities of materials used.
