Job summary

Berwyn Park District is seeking a Lead Early Childhood Instructor to plan, organize, and implement youth and early childhood programs for ages 3–12. You will foster a safe, developmentally appropriate environment and lead daily activities with a focus on cognitive, social-emotional, and physical growth.

The role is part-time, daytime with occasional evenings, requiring 18+ years old, HS diploma, 2+ years of child experience, and CPR or ability to obtain.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years of experience with children preferred.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and lead a variety of programs independently.
• Design and facilitate daily activities supporting cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development.
• Supervise and ensure safety and well-being of all participants.
• Set up, transport, and take down equipment and materials for activities.
• Maintain a clean and organized program environment.
• Communicate progress and concerns with parents regularly.
• Maintain attendance, safety inspections, and incident records.
• Collaborate with Recreation Manager and instructors to develop new programs.
• Lead and support assistants in program delivery.
