Job summary

The Nest Family Center in New Hampshire is seeking a Lead Childcare Teacher. Full-time or part-time positions are available with a schedule of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm for full-time and 8:00 am–1:00 pm or 12:00 pm–5:00 pm for part-time, focused on creating engaging, developmentally appropriate activities.

Responsibilities include designing themed lesson plans, maintaining a safe classroom, collaborating with teammates, and communicating with families about each child's progress.

Qualifications

• Must meet the NH qualifications for lead childcare teacher as listed.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Ability to develop an educational and engaging curriculum.
• Attention to detail and collaboration skills.
• Must pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Design creative, educational lesson plans based on a themed curriculum calendar.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure days are purposeful, engaging, and fun.
• Maintain a safe, compliant, and nurturing classroom environment; oversee daily activities.
• Serve as a positive role model and communicate with families about progress and concerns.
• Be the heart of the classroom and contribute to a supportive work environment.

Education

18 credits incl. 3 credits in child growth and development, and 1000 hours experience

12 credits + 3000 hours experience

CDA (center-based programs)

MACTE-accredited teacher preparation program

5+ years as licensed family childcare provider

NH Early Childhood Apprenticeship Program

1000 hours supervised childcare + 2-year vocational course (9 credits)

Qualified for lead teacher on/before 2017-11-06

QUALIFICATIONS

Our Lead Teacher needs to meet at least one of the following state requirements:

• Completion of 18 credits in related coursework, including 3 credits in child/human growth and development, and 1000 hours of experience working with children in an elementary school or a licensed childcare program
• Completion of 12 credits in related coursework plus 3000 hours of experience working with children in an elementary school or licensed childcare program
• Non-expired child development associate (CDA) in center-based programs awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition
• A credential from a MACTE-accredited teacher preparation program
• 5+ years of experience as a licensed family childcare provider with no imposed enforcement actions
• Completion of the New Hampshire Early Childhood Apprenticeship Program
• 1000 hours of supervised childcare experience in a licensed program and completion of a 2-year vocational course in career and technical education with 9 credits in related coursework
• Documentation that you were qualified for and employed as a lead teacher on or before November 6, 2017

Preferred Criteria

LEAD CHILDCARE TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Our Full-time Lead Teacher works 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday.

Our Part-time Lead Teacher Works either 8:00 am-1:00pm or 12:00 pm- 5:00 pm
