Job summary

Chroma Early Learning Academy is seeking a Lead Childcare Teacher to plan and deliver a structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. You will implement curriculum supporting cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth while maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom.

You will supervise and mentor assistant staff, manage daily classroom operations, and communicate regularly with families about progress.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • CDA, TCC, or Paraprofessional certificate is required.
  • Pass a background check is required.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • Must meet Georgia’s Bright from the Start and Quality Rated guidelines.
  • Passion for early childhood education and the social‑emotional well‑being of young children.
  • Reliable, team‑oriented, and committed to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Assistant Teacher in day‑to‑day care of the children in the classroom.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment aligned with Georgia DECAL and Quality Rated standards.
  • Support the implementation of an age‑appropriate curriculum that promotes sensory exploration, early communication, and gross motor development.
  • Observe and document developmental milestones and communicate regularly with families.
  • Follow all licensing and program guidelines related to health, safety, and sanitation.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training required for Quality Rated compliance.

Education

About This Role

At Chroma Early Learning Academy, a Lead Childcare Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering a structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. This role involves implementing curriculum that supports children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth, while ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom setting. The Lead Teacher supervises and mentors assistant staff, manages daily classroom operations, and maintains open communication with families regarding children’s progress and needs. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and knowledgeable in early childhood education, with strong leadership skills and a genuine commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.

What You’ll Do
