Job summary

Acloché LLC is hiring a Shift Supervisor for a 3rd shift on a 24/7 continuous chemical processing line in the Batavia, IL area. The role oversees a dozen operators, directs batch scheduling, and ensures safety, housekeeping, and process discipline on the floor and in the control room.

Expect a chance to shape how the shift operates in a new, brand-new schedule, with oversight from a central control room and on-site supervision as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemical engineering/chemistry/biology or related field, or 5+ years leading hands-on chemical processing.
• Experience with continuous chemical processing; polymer/plastics backgrounds welcome.
• PSM exposure preferred.
• Shift leadership in chemical/manufacturing; ability to decide without on-site manager.
• Background with automated process controls preferred.
• Willingness to split time between floor and desk.

Responsibilities

• Direct a crew of about a dozen operators across several process areas.
• Proactively address reaction issues and deviations and decide when to act.
• Set batch schedules, verify materials, and coordinate inbound tanker unloads.
• Monitor systems from the control room and enforce standards.
• Document shift logs and batch traceability.
• Plan manual work such as material loading, sampling, and end-of-run cleanout.
• Own safety, housekeeping, and operating standards for the shift.
