Job summary

Abilene Middle School is seeking applications for the position of Head Cheer Coach to start with the 2027/2028 school year. The successful candidate will lead and develop the cheer program, teach fundamentals, promote school spirit, and foster a positive, inclusive team environment for student athletes.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching cheerleading at middle/high school level.
• Ability to lead practices and coordinate performances.
• Strong communication with students, families, and administration.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct practices focused on cheerleading skills, motions, jumps, and chants.
• Coordinate cheer schedules, uniforms, equipment, and communication with students, parents, and school administration.
• Supervise students during practices, performances, and school sponsored events.
• Establish clear expectations for attendance, behavior, sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic responsibility.
• Build positive relationships with students while promoting confidence and leadership.
