Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Charge Nurse RN in Fort Smith to lead and coordinate nursing care with a focus on patient safety and quality outcomes. The role requires applying nursing standards and mentoring a multidisciplinary team.

You will oversee daily operations, ensure documentation accuracy, and support ongoing quality initiatives. A current RN license and BLS are required, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
• Administer treatments, medications, and nursing interventions.
• Provide patient and family education to support positive outcomes.
• Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Lead daily operations by coordinating staffing, assignments, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff.
• Support quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
