Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician to ensure surgical instruments are sterile, ready, and available for patient care. You will lead the Sterile Processing team, train colleagues, and uphold safety and quality standards in a fast-paced operating room environment.

The role emphasizes precision, leadership, and collaboration with the surgical team to support timely and safe patient procedures at Memorial Hospital.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • CSPDT or CRCST certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays.
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment and document cycles and safety checks.
  • Prepare surgical sets and case carts based on daily schedules.
  • Manage inventory and organize supplies in OR areas in collaboration with surgical team.
  • Lead and train the Sterile Processing team and uphold a safe, high-quality work environment.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician, you will be an invaluable safety expert and trusted leader on our team. You will use your precision and skills to keep every surgical instrument and supply clean, reliable, and ready when it matters most. You will also share your knowledge and guide your colleagues, helping create a safe, efficient environment where your team can thrive and where patients’ lives are improved every day.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Cleaning, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments and trays to ensure every tool works properly and is ready for patient care
  • Operating and maintaining sterilization equipment, while keeping detailed records of sterilization cycles, safety checks, and quality standards
  • Preparing surgical sets and case carts by reviewing daily schedules and gathering the right instruments and supplies for each procedure
  • Managing inventory, organizing supplies in OR storage areas, and working closely with the surgical team to help keep surgeries run smoothly and on time
  • Leading and training the Sterile Processing team, sharing updates on new equipment and processes, and setting a positive example to support a safe, high-quality environment where teamwork thrives
What qualifications you will need:
  • High School Graduate / GED
  • (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician, or (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician
