Job summary

HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments are thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for procedures. You will work closely with nurses and surgeons to support safe, efficient surgeries and uphold high safety standards in a fast-paced OR environment.

The role focuses on meticulous cleaning, disinfection, and proper handling of biohazardous materials, contributing to the overall quality of patient care and hospital operations.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 6 months of sterile processing technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and supplies per safety standards.
• Monitor sterilization cycles, document results, and resolve issues to ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Prepare and organize instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs.
• Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Work closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support efficient surgeries.

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
