Lead Ceramic Process Engineer - Cores and Casting

Job Description Summary
The Lead Ceramic Process Engineer is responsible for the consistent execution of all Process Engineering activities across all ceramic manufacturing processes. This role involves supporting the ceramic process engineering community within the facility and working onsite at our Investment Casting Foundry in Schenectady, focusing on Cores and Castings, with opportunities to work with innovative technologies.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Technical leadership for the ceramic department, ensuring manufacturing methods meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements, and compliance with SOPs.
  • Support implementation of the BiQ strategy within the ceramic department.
  • Monitor process capability, lead technical problem resolution, and drive process improvements to maintain budgeted FPY.
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives and scrap reduction through rigorous investigation and problem-solving.
  • Develop and lead new process introductions for new parts.
  • Maintain daily interface with manufacturing, management, and product teams, with a hands-on approach on the production floor.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in ceramic engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years in manufacturing operations/production, with at least 3 years focused on process control.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Position is 100% onsite at the GE Schenectady plant, first shift, requiring daily presence on the production floor.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
  • Role involves access to U.S. export-controlled data, limited to U.S. Persons.
  • Relocation assistance is only within the USA.
Desired Characteristics
  • Over 3 years of experience with ceramic core production for investment castings.
  • Proven success in leading manufacturing engineering projects.
  • Ability to lead and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
  • Strong multitasking and planning skills.
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Experience with statistical and process improvement tools like 6-sigma, Minitab, SPC.
Pay Transparency

The base pay range is $90,400 - $130,000, influenced by experience, education, and skills. The role is eligible for a 10% performance bonus, variable incentives, and possibly equity. Geographic differentials may apply.
