GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Lead Cashier (LC) ensures efficient guest transactions and maintains high standards at the cashwrap, including cleanliness and aesthetics. Experienced in cashiering, the LC assists in training new cashiers and cross-training associates, demonstrating leadership and collaboration skills. This role focuses on driving loyalty results through performance, people, and process, supporting the leadership team with register functions, associate inspections, and cashier chat ins/outs. A passion for guest experience, process excellence, and delivering exceptional results is essential, along with engaging every guest on our Loyalty Life Cycle and contributing positively to store goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance
  • Contributing to store goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty, and shrink reduction.
  • Providing exceptional service by greeting and engaging guests, personalizing recommendations, and promoting products/services.
  • Handling sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
  • Supporting guest services like makeup applications and product demonstrations to enhance sales and experience.
  • Booking appointments and supporting in-store events to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
  • Maintaining replenishment and organization of cashwrap displays and supplies.
  • Ensuring consistent attendance.
People
  • Fostering an inclusive environment supporting teammates and guests.
  • Supporting leadership with cashier chat ins/outs and associate inspections.
  • Staying informed about industry trends and product knowledge.
  • Promoting the guest loyalty program and store credit/loyalty goals.
  • Assisting in training new cashiers and cross-training associates.
  • Engaging peers to achieve peak performance.
  • Driving cashier accountability and participating in ongoing training.
  • Collaborating with store team to grow the business.
Process
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Adhering to dress code.
  • Completing transactions accurately and safeguarding store assets.
  • Performing register opening/closing as directed.
  • Maintaining store cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Executing operational tasks as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma preferred.

Experience: 2 years relevant experience preferred, with skills in delegation, multi-tasking, and customer service. Proven sales achievement and training experience are desirable.

Skills: Proficiency with POS systems and Apple devices, excellent communication, interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and in teams, and relationship-building skills.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be 18 or older to hold this role.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Mobility and physical activity throughout the store, including lifting up to 25 lbs., bending, and reaching.
