Schoolcraft College is seeking a Lead Cashier to manage cashier duties and assist in the Cashier’s office, including cash handling, receipting monies, and some supervisory tasks.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of related experience, strong math and customer service skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while working with staff, students, and external customers. Work hours are 25 per week, 12-5pm, Mon-Fri, onsite at Schoolcraft College.

Responsibilities

  • Receipting monies across campus.
  • Receipts for TR/PPL payments, invoices, nursing forms, and vendor payments.
  • Balance daily office work, prepare daily bank deposits and assist in manager absence.
  • Process gift card receipts from college departments.
  • Sort and process mail.
  • Communicate with students via email, in person, or by phone.
  • Assist students and colleagues with TouchNet and BankMobile platforms.
  • Periodically count vault change and process bank orders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

The Lead Cashier performs cashier related duties, including some managerial tasks within the Cashier’s office.

Required Qualifications
  • At least one (1) year of related work experience.
  • General Financial/banking skills, including accuracy in math and counting money.
  • High-quality customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time management skills with an attention to details.
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible within the work environment.
  • Ability to effectively work with staff, students, and external customers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cashier or Teller experience.

  • Noise Level: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Work Hours

Work Hours 25 per week, 12-5pm Mon-Friday. Flexible Scheduling: Evenings and weekends may be required.

Salary Pay range

$20.80-$32.41 per hour
