GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Lead Cashier (LC) is responsible for the efficiency of guest transactions and maintaining excellence in cashwrap standards, including cleanliness and overall aesthetics. Experienced in cashiering, the LC assists in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates. This position drives loyalty results, including credit, through performance, people, and process. The Lead Cashier supports the leadership team with register functions, associate inspections, and cashier chat ins/outs, with a focus on guest experience, process excellence, and achieving goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performance: Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to sales, loyalty, and shrink. Ensure exceptional guest service, handle transactions courteously, and support in-store events and displays.
• People: Support an inclusive environment, assist in training, and engage peers to achieve performance goals. Share the benefits of the loyalty program and participate in ongoing training.
• Process: Ensure compliance with policies, maintain store standards, and execute operational tasks efficiently.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma preferred.

Experience: 2 years relevant experience or equivalent; proven ability to delegate, multi-task, and sell; experience in exceeding sales goals and training new hires.

Skills: Proficient with POS systems and technology, excellent communication, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and in teams, and build customer relationships.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be 18 years or older.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Mobility throughout the store, frequent bending, lifting up to 25 lbs., and continuous object manipulation.
