General Summary & Scope

The Lead Cashier (LC) is responsible for the efficiency of guest transactions and maintaining excellence in cashwrap standards, including cleanliness and overall aesthetics. The LC assists in training new cashiers and cross-training associates, demonstrating collaboration, leadership, and influence. This role drives loyalty results, including credit, through performance, people, and process focus. The LC supports opening and closing registers, associate exit inspections, and cashier chat ins/outs, with a passion for guest experience, process excellence, and delivering results by engaging guests with our Loyalty Life Cycle.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

The LC champions Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, performing duties such as:

Performance

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to sales, loyalty, and shrink.
• Provide exceptional service, greeting and engaging guests, personalizing service, and recommending products or services.
• Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
• Support in-booking appointments and executing in-store services and events.
• Maintain replenishment and organization of cashwrap displays and supplies.
• Maintain regular attendance.

People

• Support an inclusive environment for teammates and guests.
• Assist in cashier training and cross-training associates.
• Engage and influence peers to achieve performance goals.
• Participate in ongoing training and collaborate to grow the business.

Process

• Ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Adhere to dress code.
• Complete transactions accurately and control cash/media.
• Maintain store standards and cleanliness.
• Protect assets and minimize loss.

Job Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma preferred.

Experience

• 2 years relevant experience or equivalent.
• Ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve.
• Passion for guest service and selling.
• Experience in exceeding sales goals and training new hires.

Skills

• Proficient with POS and Apple devices.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.

Special Position Requirements

• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be 18 or older to hold the role.
