General Summary & Scope

The Lead Cashier (LC) is responsible for the efficiency of guest transactions and maintaining excellence in cashwrap standards, including cleanliness and overall aesthetics. The LC assists in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates, demonstrating the ability to proactively collaborate, lead, and influence peers. This position drives loyalty results, including credit, focusing on performance (sales, guest experience, loyalty), people (guest service, training, development), and process (operating procedures and compliance standards). The Lead Cashier supports the leadership team with register functions, associate exit inspections, and cashier chat in/outs, requiring a passion for guest experience, process excellence, and delivering results by engaging guests in our Loyalty Life Cycle.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performance
  • Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to sales, loyalty, and shrink reduction.
  • Provide exceptional service, greeting and engaging guests, personalizing service, and recommending products or services.
  • Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
  • Support guest services like makeup applications and product demonstrations to drive sales.
  • Support in booking appointments and executing in-store events.
  • Maintain replenishment and organization of cashwrap displays and supplies.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
People
  • Support an inclusive environment for teammates and guests.
  • Assist with cashier chat ins/outs and exit inspections.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and products.
  • Promote the guest loyalty program and create excitement around credit and loyalty goals.
  • Train new cashiers and cross-train associates.
  • Engage and influence peers to achieve performance goals.
  • Participate in ongoing training and collaborate to grow the business.
Process
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Adhere to dress code.
  • Complete transactions accurately and control cash/media.
  • Perform register opening/closing as directed.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and protect assets.
  • Execute operational tasks as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma preferred.
Experience
  • 2 years relevant experience or equivalent education and experience preferred.
  • Ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve.
  • Passion for guest service and sales.
  • Experience in exceeding sales goals and training new hires.
Skills
  • Proficiency with POS systems and technology.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
  • React under pressure and adapt flexibly.
Special Position Requirements
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be 18+ years old.
Working Conditions
  • Mobility throughout the store during shifts.
  • Frequent physical activity including bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and reaching.
  • Engagement in store safety and loss prevention standards.
