GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Lead Cashier (LC) is responsible for the efficiency of guest transactions and maintaining excellence in cashwrap standards, including cleanliness and overall aesthetics. Experienced in cashiering, the LC assists in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates. This position is responsible for driving loyalty results, including credit, through a focus on performance, people, and process. The Lead Cashier supports the leadership team with register functions, associate inspections, and cashier chat in/outs, requiring a passion for guest experience, process excellence, and delivering exceptional results by engaging guests on the benefits of our Loyalty Life Cycle.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance
  • Contributing to store goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty, and retail shrink.
  • Providing exceptional service by greeting, engaging, and personalizing service for each guest.
  • Handling sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
  • Supporting the execution of services and in-store events to enhance guest experience and sales.
  • Replenishing and maintaining all cashwrap displays and supplies.
  • Maintaining prompt attendance.
People
  • Supporting an inclusive environment for teammates and guests.
  • Assisting with cashier chat ins/outs and associate inspections.
  • Staying informed on industry trends, products, and services.
  • Sharing the benefits of the loyalty program with guests and team members.
  • Training new cashiers and cross-training associates.
  • Engaging and influencing peers to achieve performance goals.
  • Participating in ongoing training and collaborating to grow the business.
Process
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Adhering to dress code.
  • Completing transactions accurately and controlling cash/media.
  • Executing register functions and maintaining store standards.
  • Protecting assets and minimizing loss.
  • Executing operational tasks as directed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma preferred.

Experience

  • 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve.
  • Knowledge and passion for guest service and selling.
  • Experience in exceeding sales goals and training new hires.

Skills

  • Proficiency with POS systems and technology.
  • Excellent communication skills.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Mobility throughout the store during shift.
  • Frequent physical activities including bending, lifting up to 25 lbs.
