Role Description

The Lead Carpenter / Working Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area. This role combines hands-on carpentry with day-to-day project management responsibilities on residential and commercial restoration, roofing, and remodeling projects. Typical tasks include performing framing and finish carpentry, using hand and power tools to complete structural and detailed work, coordinating materials and subcontractors, and ensuring work is completed to company quality and safety standards. The Lead Carpenter / Working Project Manager will supervise crew members, communicate with clients and office staff about project progress, and help maintain clean, organized, and compliant job sites. This position requires both technical expertise and the ability to plan, schedule, and problem-solve in the field.

Qualifications

• Strong Carpentry skills with experience leading work on residential and commercial projects.
• Proficiency with Power Tools and Hand Tools used in construction and restoration work.
• Experience with Framing, including structural layouts, walls, floors, and roofs.
• Skill in Finish Carpentry, including trim, doors, cabinetry, and detailed interior work.
• Previous experience in a lead carpenter, foreperson, or working project manager role.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, scopes of work, and specifications.
• Strong organizational, time management, and job-site coordination abilities.
• Commitment to safety practices and compliance with building codes and company policies.
• Effective communication skills for working with crew members, subcontractors, and clients.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in the Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area.
