Job summary

Trueline in Michigan is seeking a Lead Carpenter for luxury custom homes and high-end renovations. This hands-on role requires ownership of complex carpentry tasks from layout through installation, with strong reading of architectural drawings and detailed plans.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on residential carpentry experience.
• Experience on custom homes, high-end renovations or detail-driven construction.
• Advanced carpentry skills for independently executing sophisticated residential work.
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing and materials.
• Ability to read architectural drawings, plans, details and specifications.
• Exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Ability to anticipate issues and plan ahead in the field.
• Strong layout, measurement and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication with Project Managers, subcontractors and trades.
• Professional demeanor for occupied homes and high-end clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality carpentry across luxury homes and renovations.
• Own challenging carpentry work from layout to installation and final detail.
• Read and interpret architectural drawings and plans.
• Execute work with high tolerance for finishes and alignment.
• Identify field conditions and conflicts before they affect later work.
• Plan ahead and coordinate with PMs and other trades.
• Work independently without constant direction from PM.
• Communicate field conditions and needs clearly to PMs.
• Provide direction to other field personnel when needed.
• Troubleshoot unexpected conditions without compromising craftsmanship.
• Interact professionally with homeowners, architects and designers.
