Our reputation is built on quality, transparency, and relationships.

The Opportunity: Lead Carpenter

We're seeking a highly skilled and reliable Lead Carpenter to manage and execute remodel projects from rough framing to detailed finish work. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives in the field, takes ownership of project outcomes, and can lead a team confidently.

You will serve as the go-to expert on the jobsite—reading plans, organizing materials, solving challenges in real time, and setting the standard for quality and professionalism. You will collaborate closely with the project manager, interact respectfully with clients and trades, and embody our values of honesty, craftsmanship, and care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of field carpentry (framing, finish carpentry, cabinetry, trim, hardware installation, etc.)
  • Supervise and mentor a team of carpenters and apprentices
  • Ensure work complies with applicable codes, job specifications, and company standards
  • Coordinate daily activities with the project manager and subcontractors
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
  • Communicate effectively with clients and represent Tru Builders professionally
  • Manage tools, materials, and deliveries to support timely project completion
Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of progressive carpentry experience, including supervisory roles
  • Proven ability to lead remodeling projects from demo through punch-list
  • Deep knowledge of building practices, safety regulations, and finish standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • OSHA 10 and RRP certifications (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
Benefits
  • Competitive pay based on experience and skill level
  • Paid Time Off, holidays, and vacation
  • Health benefits with company-sponsored medical coverage
  • 3% retirement match
  • Vehicle and gas stipend for eligible travel
  • Uniforms and essential equipment provided
  • Weekly team lunches, collaborative environment, and supportive leadership
  • Consistent, high-quality projects ensuring year-round work
