Job summary

Jenkins Design Build in Austin, TX is seeking a skilled Residential Carpenter Foreman to lead carpentry on high-end custom homes throughout the Hill Country. This hands-on leadership role coordinates carpenters, interprets plans, plans daily work, and ensures the highest quality standards on active job sites.

Qualifications

• At least five years of residential carpentry experience; luxury custom home experience preferred.
• Experience leading carpenters or small field crews.
• Strong knowledge of framing, interior/exterior finish carpentry, and sequencing.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and construction documents.
• Proficient with common hand, power, and layout tools.
• Strong attention to detail and high-quality workmanship.
• Problem-solving skills and clear communication.
• Ability to perform physical duties on active sites, with or without accommodation.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between sites.
• OSHA training or relevant trade certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate carpenters and field personnel.
• Review plans, details, specs, and daily work priorities.
• Perform and supervise framing, blocking, trim, cabinetry support, and punch work.
• Lay out work accurately; verify dimensions, elevations, alignment, finish quality.
• Assign tasks and monitor productivity, workmanship, and completion.
• Coordinate carpentry with Superintendent and other trades.
• Identify field conflicts and propose solutions before work proceeds.
• Estimate labor and material requirements for assigned work.
• Ensure tools, materials, and equipment are available when needed.
• Enforce jobsite safety procedures and keep the site clean and organized.
• Train and mentor less-experienced carpenters.
• Complete punch-list and corrective work to company standards.
