Job summary

Post Services Inc. in Chicago & North Shore is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter for full-time, on-site work on kitchens, bathrooms, and whole-home remodeling projects.

You will install exterior doors and windows, cabinets, trim, and millwork while reading plans and coordinating with project managers. This role offers paid manufacturer training, growth into leadership, and a path to lead installer positions as the exterior door/window division expands.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of residential remodeling or carpentry experience.
• Strong finish-carpentry skills.
• Experience installing exterior doors and windows preferred.
• Experience with cabinets, trim, framing and remodeling.
• Ability to measure and troubleshoot field conditions.
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
• Comfortable working in occupied homes.
• Professional appearance and customer communication.
• Ability to work with Project Managers and subcontractors.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Dependable and seeking long-term, full-time employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality residential remodeling and carpentry.
• Install exterior entry doors and windows.
• Install cabinets, interior doors, baseboards, trim, and millwork.
• Complete framing and carpentry modifications.
• Read plans, measurements, and project specs.
• Troubleshoot existing conditions and installation problems.
• Complete punch-list and warranty work.
• Work with Carpenter Helper and train them.
• Maintain clean, organized, and protected jobsites.
• Communicate with Project Managers about progress and materials.
• Help maintain tools and equipment.
• Follow quality-control and installation procedures.
