Job summary

Georgia Tech is seeking a skilled carpenter lead to perform general carpentry tasks, including building, installing, repairing and maintaining structures, furniture, doors and windows. The role involves directing carpentry personnel and may include hands-on advanced work.

Responsibilities include assigning duties, requisitioning materials, preparing reports, constructing cabinets and fixtures, inspecting work quality, and maintaining tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma.
• Four to six years of job related experience.
• Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or two years college course work.

Responsibilities

• Assign duties, provide instruction and oversee work of other carpentry personnel in the building, installation, repair and maintenance of structures, framing, flooring, etc.
• Requisition materials and supplies.
• Prepare work reports.
• Build wood furniture and fixtures including cabinets, tables, shelving, bulletin boards.
• Inspect finished work for quality and adherence to specifications.
• Oversee maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Advise Carpentry Forepersons and others regarding performance of assigned personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned
