Job summary

Good Carbon Co. is seeking an experienced Carpenter III to perform advanced rough and finish carpentry across multi-room, multi-unit renovation and occupied-property projects.

You will independently handle complex work, read blueprints, plan daily tasks, and uphold safety and quality standards. Reporting to the Foreman, you may lead small task or crew segments, while mentoring Carpenter I/II and ensuring minimal rework.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant carpentry, remodeling, renovation, or construction experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in rough and finish renovation carpentry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, tools, equipment, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, details, specifications, measurements, and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently complete complex work with limited supervision.
  • Strong field problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and support less-experienced employees.
  • Strong communication, organization, accountability, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a construction team.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
  • Valid driver’s license when driving is required for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced rough and finish carpentry, including demolition, framing, drywall, flooring, trim, cabinetry, doors, windows, blocking, and repairs.
  • Independently complete complex construction and renovation projects while meeting company quality, safety, and production standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents to verify measurements, identify field issues, and ensure accurate installations.
  • Plan and organize daily work by coordinating labor, materials, tools, and sequencing to meet project schedules.
  • Inspect completed work, correct deficiencies, and help minimize punch-list items, callbacks, and rework.
  • Mentor Carpenter I and Carpenter II employees by demonstrating proper techniques, safety practices, and quality workmanship.
  • Communicate proactively with the Foreman, Superintendent, Project Manager, and other trades regarding progress, material needs, field conditions, and potential delays.
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and work areas while minimizing material waste and protecting completed work.
  • Follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and project-specific requirements to maintain a safe, organized jobsite.
  • When delegated by the Foreman, provide task-level leadership by coordinating work assignments, monitoring quality and productivity, and supporting crew success.
