Role Description

The Lead Carpenter is a full-time, on-site role based in Rio Vista, CA. This role oversees daily carpentry activities on commercial and residential projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification. The Lead Carpenter coordinates with project managers and crew members, reads and interprets plans, lays out work, and performs framing and finish carpentry tasks. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining hand and power tools, mentoring less experienced carpenters, troubleshooting job site issues, and helping maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• Strong carpentry skills, including experience leading carpentry crews and completing complex projects
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, with a strong commitment to safe operation and maintenance
• Experience in framing, including layout, structural assembly, and adherence to building codes
• Finish carpentry skills, including trim work, doors, cabinetry, and detailed interior finishes
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills on job sites
• Reliable transportation to Rio Vista, CA, and ability to work full-time on-site
• Previous experience as a lead or senior carpenter; formal training or apprenticeship completion is beneficial
