Job summary

KAIKER DEVELOPMENT + CONSTRUCTION is seeking a Lead Carpenter to drive high-quality framing, finish carpentry, cabinetry, trim work, and specialty installations on residential and commercial projects.

You will lead and mentor small crews, coordinate with the Foreman and Superintendent, and ensure a safe, productive job site while interpreting plans and specifications for precise material installations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of residential or commercial carpentry experience.
  • Ability to follow professional direction and execute project-specific tasks.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and general construction equipment.
  • Proven ability to listen to field leadership and maintain a safe, collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform framing, finish carpentry, cabinetry, trim work, millwork, and specialty installations.
  • Lead, mentor, and direct small crews of carpenters, laborers, and apprentices.
  • Coordinate daily work activities with the project Foreman, Superintendent, and office management.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe job site by enforcing safety rules and company protocols.
  • Interpret drawings, elevations, plans, and specifications for exact material installations.
  • Identify material needs, complete punch-list items, and support final project closeout.

The Opportunity:

As a Lead Carpenter, you will serve as the primary skilled tradesperson on-site, executing advanced carpentry while guiding daily field operations for your crew. You will have the unique opportunity to showcase your craftsmanship and mentor junior team members in a supportive environment that prioritizes streamlined, efficient projects. How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Proven track record of listening to field leadership and maintaining a safe, collaborative work environment.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
  • Experience leading and mentoring junior carpenters or apprentices in a field setting.
  • OSHA 10 Certification.
  • Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting detailed construction drawings and scopes of work.
  • Proven capability to transition smoothly between framing and high-end finish carpentry work.
  • Competitive hourly pay ranging from $25 to $40 per hour based on experience.
