Job summary

Lotus Construction Group of Claremont, CA is seeking exemplary carpenters to join our remodeling-focused team. Candidates should be skilled in all remodeling phases, organized to manage materials, schedules and sub contractors, and capable of delivering high-quality work with initiative.

Responsibilities include reading plans, lead carpentry tasks, and coordinating with clients and the design team. Travel may be required; evenings/weekends availability helps, and competitive wages are offered.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current carpentry practices, materials and tools.
• Experience with cabinetry, countertop construction and millwork installation.
• Understanding of building codes and basic estimating.

Responsibilities

• Organize projects, order materials, and oversee subcontractors.
• Communicate with clients and design team daily; perform carpentry tasks to high standards.
• Lead a 3–5 person team and ensure safety and timely completion of projects.
• Estimate job costs, prepare material lists, and assist Project Manager with technical input.

You will organize the project, order materials for delivery, oversee sub contractors, communicate with our clients and our design team daily, and perform many of the carpentry and remodeling tasks to our very high standards. Carpenter must possess the following knowledge:

• current practices, materials, hand and power tools, & other equipment as needed
• cabinetry and counter top construction, installation and/or assembly
• installation practices for paint-grade and stain-grade millwork
• State and local building codes, regulation and ordinances
• basic estimating
• basic plumbing and electrical
• basic painting and drywall finishing
• intermediate computer skills

Carpenter must possess ability to:

• prepare, read, interpret, & work from sketches, drawings, plans,& blueprints
• perform skilled rough & finish carpentry work
• operate tools & machines of the construction trade
• lift and carry heavy tools/materials
• provide leadership &cooperate with field staff,office staff, clients, vendors & subcontractors
• keep accurate records

Successful Carpenter will:

• determine the most efficient work procedures and techniques for assigned staff to ensure timely completion of projects & make sure that safety procedures are followed
• perform service calls for emergency repairs
• estimate job costs and prepare material lists
• assist Project Manager with technical input concerning work in progress
• inspect projects for maintenance and safety issues
• maybe required to schedule and oversee subcontractors assigned to project
• some local and national travel may be required.

Lead responsibilities include guidance and instruction on techniques, methods, and procedures for accomplishing assigned tasks and solving problems.

Additional Requirements: Must be able to manage 3-5 person team.Must have valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.Must have at least 5 years experience as a Lead Carpenter/Foreman.Must be flexible, as some evenings, weekends and overtime may be required.Must be able to pass a background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour
