Job summary

American Airlines in Fort Worth is seeking a Finance Specialist to support interline revenue accounting. You will manage receivables, serve as the accounting point of contact for interline carriers, and assist the team with day-to-day inquiries from sales groups.

You will audit adjustments for overbilling/overpayment, help train new hires, and develop monthly management reports. The role requires leadership, strong PC skills including Excel, Cognos, Sabre, and the ability to handle multiple

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED Equivalency.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage receivables and act as accounting point of contact for interline carriers and other complex issues of international and interline receivable.
  • Audit and process customer and carrier’s adjustments in overbilling/overpayment.
  • Assist Specialists with general day-to-day questions from General Sales Agents and International account sales teams.
  • Directs the training of new hires and creates training classes on subjects of interest or new procedures.
  • Facilitate escalated airline and sales inquiries to resolve issues and ensure continuous workflow.
  • Performs account analysis to identify chronic issues and works with groups to resolve them.
  • Coordinates and produces monthly reports for management.

  • This job is a member of the Finance Team within the Finance Division.

  • Responsible for supporting and assisting a team of 6-8 Specialists and Interline carriers. Team Lead reports directly to the Supervisor – Cargo Revenue Accounting and assists supervisor with day to day department activities.


What you'll do


  • Manages receivables and serves as accounting point of contact for interline carriers and other complex issues of international and interline receivable.

  • Audits and processes customer and carrier’s adjustments in overbilling/overpayment.

  • Assists Specialists with general day-to-day questions from General Sales Agents and International account sales teams

  • Directs the training of new hires

  • Creates training classes on subjects of interest or new procedures

  • Facilitates escalated airline and sales inquiries as necessary to resolve issues

  • Coverages to ensure continuous work flow

  • Performs account analysis to identify chronic issues driving the aging/billing concerns and work with all groups to bring to resolution

  • Recommends and assists in the implementation of new processes and procedures

  • Coordinates and produce monthly reports for management

  • Performs other necessary duties and special projects as assigned

  • Conducts ad hoc projects as assigned by supervisor and/or manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training

  • Ability to have aptitude to quickly evaluate details to present at a summary level

  • Ability to be flexible and demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and deadlines concurrently and successfully

  • Strong PC skills including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Sabre and Cognos
